The Problem:
The socket-weld thermowell defined does not fit into a 1”x 3”, 6000#, sockolet fitting, as shown in the photograph below.
Challenge:
Note, all pipe welding on HRSG is to be completed at site, by the end of the day Friday. Initial water filling is to begin on Monday, in preparation for hydrotest. If replacement thermowells are not on site, by the end of the day Friday, we are at extreme risk of delay of hydrotest.
Solution:
After further review, it was determined that the dimensions of the thermowell were suitable, for a 3000# socket weld fitting and not a 6000# fitting as original identified. Temp-Pro manufactured and supplied new socket-weld thermowells for the HP Attemperator BP Temperature service location within two days and were delivered at site, by the end of the day Friday.
Results:
The customer was relieved to have thermowells in place and was extremely satisfied with Temp-Pro’s quick delivery and attention to detail. Customer was able to avoid delay of hydrotest.
